Really enjoyed listening to that read aloud! I haven’t watched a ton of these because there’s just so many posted, but your stuff is always great to see. Laughed twice. First at the bit about hiding the wedding ring in the flaming onion. And the second time when you flung the eyeball as casually as tossing someone their car keys.
Thanks so much, Elliott! :) :) Oh man, glad you could tell that was an eyeball!!! I practiced a lot, but the eye-hand coordination on stage--you just never know how it's gonna turn out, haha! Thanks for taking the time. :)
Beautiful reading & story, Maegan. Characteristically meaty, which is the highest compliment as you well know. (P.S. What's the story on story night? I'm in the midwest and would love to attend or, even better, risk it all and read something.)
I'd love for you to attend AND read also! The next one is on Wednesday, March 22nd at Cedars West End in Youngstown, Ohio! Contact Kerri Rickard or see more details here: https://fb.me/e/5Sxy84evu
It's a 5 hour drive for me, but well worth it (and I'm very lucky that my husband is supportive of me doing this and handles our business and kids while I'm away).
INCREDIBLE. Thanks so much for the info, Maegan. I sent Kerri a lil FB message, so hoping to get some more deets soon. I'm in a similar sitch -- 7 hours from my place in Illinois. But honestly, it's hardly an obstacle compared to my eagerness to attend such a cool event. Those will be delightful miles -- assuming the weather's alright. Again, you killed it. Hope to say hi IRL soon.
Awesome! Yeah and Kerri also has an email just for the Story Night. KerriMidwestStoryNight@gmail.com Make sure you let her know how far you're coming from. Yes, the drive is fun if the weather is good, and so far it has been. Thanks again for watching and I'm glad you thought I killed it because one thing about watching yourself on video is it is total cringe. At least for me. Ok see you soon!
Loved the presentation on story night and love getting to set my eyes on the words today. Great job, Maegan! I can’t wait to see what you have of your sleeve for this month.
Hello Meagan. I'm humbly reaching out. Do you know of the best areas to stay in Portland, Or.? I've never been and have no idea about the different areas.
Hi Candice! I have not been to Portland. Seems like a cool area though!! Are you going to read? I am traveling to Youngstown, Ohio for the story nights. Maybe try Colton Merris for local insight?? If I think of others I’ll post them here.
Thank you so much! And I read "I love you more than tuna." You recommended it to me after my cat passed and the very next day my neighbor showed up to my door step with the book. I cried like a fucking baby. Thank you.
I've just rewatched this today. The reading is brilliant, Maegan. Quirky and funny. Your writing is always so witty, humorous. It's high paced and keeps you hooked throughout the entire story. Fantastic job, as usual. Well done.
Especially good to hear that you felt engaged through this particular story. Because honestly, out of the three I've done so far (this last one yet to be posted), I felt that this was my weakest one, story-wise. So yeah. Double thanks. And looking forward to your next Modern Tale, my friend.

Haha. Boy. As a dude, I’m not sure if my mind would allow me to think it was anything else *but* an eyeball!!! 🥶😱
🤣🤣🤣
Nice props! Hearing the ending, it’s funny! But when I read it? Horrifying! Good job!
Thank you, Wil. :)

Ooooooo, loved that.
Dane! Thank you very very much! :) :) :)

Hey thanks, Tom!! Fingers crossed I can finish my next story in time! Looking forward to your next reading too!! :) :)
I believe you’ll get it done. Thank you, I just need to hammer all the dents out of mine, there is something about it I just don’t like.

Love it!
Thank you, Robb!

Thank you so much Maegan! Karie Anne sweetly and highly recommended I reach out to you. She's such a lady!
Yes she is!
Try Andrew Rutledge! He seems like a local.

Also, added it to my favourites. Because I'll keep getting back to it over and over again in the next few weeks. 😉

Hey Maegan, I stumbled onto this while watching some videos of Chuck on YouTube: https://youtu.be/4lHMpHpnetU
I don’t know if you already know this is up, but if not, I figured you may possibly want to make a post about here on your ‘stack.
P. S. If you don’t want this comment with the link to the video appearing here in the comment section, let me know and I’ll take it down.
Thanks, Brandan!!
I’m actually eagerly waiting for Matt to post/tell me I can publicly post myself!
Got a draft ready and am excited to share very soon. :)
No need to delete the link here. Should be any day now. Any hour. Any minute... (Drums fingers on table.)
Thanks for looking out!
Don’t mention it :)
It’s awesome to see you appearing on podcasts talking about your work and writing in general.
Hope the vid does well!
Thank you! It was a blast!! 💥 Thank you for watching!! 🥩 🥩 🥩
Or thanks if you do watch?
Thanks for finding it?
